Christchurch Eye, Highcliffe Eye & Southbourne Eye magazines are independently owned and published by local resident and businesswoman, Cheryl Dennett.

 2009 saw our first community magazine ‘Christchurch Eye’ with a print run to 6,000 homes in the Christchurch area.

A few years later, in 2012, ‘Highcliffe Eye’ was then launched along with a larger print run and distribution due to a high demand from both readers and advertisers.

Next came ‘Southbourne Eye’ in the year 2016.

In 2018, we expanded by printing bi-monthly and DOUBLING our exposure of all 3 of our community magazines keeping a monthly distribution but covering new areas within each town.

We now print a massive 45,000 every other month! We stagger the delivery monthly to enable our customers to receive a regular stream of calls.

 2018 was also the year in which we changed our name from ‘Local Eye Magazines’ to ‘South Coast Media’. The reason for this was due to our expansion of producing other publications such as a Town Map for Christchurch and also a Visitor Guide for local areas (coming soon).

Producing magazines that are both entertaining to read and useful sources of information is both challenging and rewarding. The purpose of the magazines is to serve the community into which they are distributed and to support the local businesses that operate within or close to the community. Studies show that people like to “buy locally” whenever they can and now the readers of ‘Christchurch Eye’, ‘Highcliffe, Burton & Bransgore Eye’ & ‘Southbourne Eye’ have a free reference guide to enable them to do just that.

We firmly believe in providing high quality publications whilst trying to keep advertising costs as low as possible. We appreciate the need for local companies to have an affordable way to reach local people, which in turn will have a positive impact on the local economy.

A message from the Cheryl…..

“I feel very passionate about the local town’s great sense of community in Christchurch, Highcliffe & Southbourne and shortly after moving to the area some fifteen years ago, I wanted to do something positive for the local community in the area in which I live, so December 2009 saw the launch of our very first community magazine, ‘Christchurch Eye’.

Over the 10 years since our launch I have received an overwhelming and very positive feedback from both residents and businesses.

I firmly believe in providing high quality publications whilst trying to keep advertising costs as low as possible. I appreciate the need for local companies to have an affordable way to reach local people, which in turn will have a positive impact on the local economy.

When I’m not working I’m being Mum to my 3 wonderful (and patient) children that work or attend school in the local area; out and about on the local waters (boating or paddle boarding), Modern-jiving (or at least attempting to throw similar shapes to) or having a go at a spot of DIY.”
